FAQ

A zine is a collaborative project for fans of certain media or themes. Contributors and moderators all work together to create a finished product (usually a digital or physical art book) that other fans can buy or download!

This theme is all about bugs and insects! Just like real-world insectariums, this zine will act as a display of our love for many different insects and similar arthropods. Pieces can focus on learning about bugs and their habitats, food chains, environments, or even just a pretty drawing of a creature you love a whole lot!

Neither! This project is a free digital zine that will be available for everyone to download upon completion; we will not be collecting any funds.

Yes, we are! Don’t worry, guest artists won’t be taking up any general contributor spots.

We will be accepting 30 – 40 general contributors! We ask that all applicants be over the age of 16 by the time contributor applications open.

As this is a free passion project, we won’t be able to give contributors any monetary compensation or a physical copy of the zine. They will, of course, receive a free digital copy of the zine once it’s finished!

No, everyone will get an email about their application results regardless of their acceptance status!

While they’re not the first thing that will be taken into consideration, pitches will be used as a tie breaker if needed to ensure a variety of subjects in the zine.

Yes, of course! We only ask that you keep your work private until the project ends in order to keep our zine new and fresh!

We’ll notify contributors one month after the zine goes public to give everyone the go-ahead to share their work!

We just mean that your work should be based on bugs that exist in real life, and not bugs that exist in media (like cartoon characters or fantasy insects). You are, of course, free to draw in different art styles besides realism!
